First: Thanks Maura for the assist today 18 people at 6:30am on a Tuesday… Nuff said.
Second: Congrats for all the hard work to our athletes this morning. Some PRs, some first time kipping pull ups and some first all the way legit push ups!!!
Third: thanks for the understanding about running over class 18 people on the pull up bars wouldn’t end well.
Final: Lauren and Richard don’t think I missed the fact you didn’t check in. Next time I see ya …. Burpees

Not sure if we’re posting here anymore or only using Wodify, but I wanted to thank everyone from the first heat at 530 who stuck around to cheer us on in the second heat. It was definitely appreciated :)

I still like the logging here despite Wodify (which I LOVE) – conversational fun. Anyway, this was my first time doing Cindy Rx. The pushups are still my nemesis and slow me down so much. I have to do sets of 2 or singles by round 4! It makes it rather grueling but I’m stoked with my final result. Rich was whipping out butterfly pullups like it was no big deal at all. 18 rounds, really?! Ok!

    13+2 Rx

Joy — I don’t know what you mean by “slow” pushups, cuz 13+ rounds Rx is nothing to sneeze at. Jeez, girl! Congrats on your first Rx Cindy — that must feel good!

Rest day today but wanted to thank all those athletes at our gym that serve or have served our country. Thank you for letting us pick up heavy $hit!

Props to Kara for the excellent article attached to today’s WOD. Fascinating, terrifying stuff. And timely…join the SOS Challenge and take on the “eliminate sugar” habit!

  • Joy

Thanks Mary! I’m already feeling it in my arms and my legs!!! Def hyped :-)

  • Kara

I agree, Angela – “Alzheimer’s could be the most catastrophic impact of junk food.” Truly terrifying. (Nice plug for the SOS challenge, btw!)

I’m in DC for work and have been lucky enough to witness some of the lovely 9/11 memorials around the White House and in town. Started the day bright and early at the hotel gym for 2 miles on the dreadmill (wanted to do a 5k but ugh, could not stand it) and tabata weighted situps with a 20lb db. My lowest round was 9.

    See y’all tomorrow!

Did another team WOD with the boys in OBX this morning.

3 person team – 5 rounds for reps of:
    Run 200m (rabbit)
    Sit-ups
    Burpees

I did about 20 sit-ups and 10 burpees per round.

  • Joy

Oh wait, Rich got 22!!! Crazy

    5:30AM

Cindy RX – 18 Rounds even

Broke up the push-ups from the start and they seemed not to fade as quickly as previous efforts (thanks for the tip Kevin).
Just to clarify for Joy, I got 18 rounds and do not have butterfly pull-ups. Rich Andrews on the other hand does have them and got 18 rounds, which makes him a BAMF.

    5:30PM

    6 x 800m run w/ 3 min rest between rounds
    2:46, 2:49, 2:58, 2:58, 2:56, 2:57

The runs felt terrible (tight form, dead legs, slow times) but I was happy to hold my ground at 3:00. If you had asked me after round 3 I would have said it wasn’t possible.

With all of that said. Consider this an open invitation for anyone that wants to do these crossfit endurance running workouts Tuesday and Thursday evenings (5-6ish, I’m flexible). You know you want in.

Since it has been close to a month since I have been to the box for Cindy I did 3,6,9 and was happy with 17 rounds +3+5. I went easy on myself with green band/strict PU and 20 inch box for push ups. Push ups do not like me!!
