When Liz Greco joined Lean Out Club (LOC) she was an over-stressed, underslept mother of two highly energetic twin boys who felt she didn’t have time to cook healthy meals for herself and her family. It was so much easier to just grab a pizza or some cheesesteaks, especially when your husband owns a pizza shop. But during her time in LOC she found that healthy food can be delicious, easy and quick, and that you really don’t know what good feels like until you remove the crap from your life.
During the five months she was in LOC, Liz lost 11.7 pounds, 7% bodyfat, 5 inches off of her legs, 3.5 inches off of her waist, and 3 inches off her hips. Liz also went from having to stop and walk during a broomile back in January 2012 to completing the Civilian Military Combine in April 2012, and the Philly Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon in 2.5 hours in September 2012.
Here is Liz’s story…
I’ve always been pretty active fitness-wise but nutrition and health were always lacking. I would try different ways of dieting to lose weight. I was eating things that I thought were healthy and good for me but come to realize now that they were not.
I have never felt better physically or mentally! I have more energy now than I’ve had in a long time. I have more confidence doing WODs and my stamina has even improved with them. I was finally able to achieve my goal of jumping on that stupid 20-inch box, which took me what seems like years to accomplish!
I think the biggest thing for me during the LOC was getting off my addiction to coffee. I had a bad coffee/espresso habit. Now all I have each day is one 16oz coffee in the morning and that’s it. I have more energy now being off coffee than I ever had on it! Learning what foods to eat and what foods to stay away from was very helpful. Don’t get me wrong, my “treat” days are used wisely but I never feel as good as the days I’m eating healthy.
I’ve learned that feeling good and eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring. I loved the weekly meals! It’s so much easier planning your week eating healthy fulfilling meals when someone is sending them to you. I’ve had so many awesome meals since starting LOC. I cook more now than I ever have and I actually enjoy it. I always would complain about being hungry when I’d try to diet. I haven’t said that once during the LOC. I am no longer on a “diet.” I’ve done a complete lifestyle change and I plan on sticking to it. I still have a long road ahead of me as far as losing weight and CF goals, but I definitely feel I am on the right track.
It was also great to be able to contact Larry via email/text at any time with additional questions (even stupid questions like where in the heck do I find duck fat!). It’s like having a nutritionist on call! Having someone there to keep you accountable is helpful too! I would love to have Larry weigh and measure me monthly for life!
The Lean Out Club is perfect for learning how easy it is to feel great! I have never felt this good and I can’t stress enough how easy it is once you know what to do! I feel like Larry was not only my nutritionist but somehow warped into my therapist! I looked forward to our meetings and I really like the new addition of skill work! I need serious help with my squatting and he’s given me some great tips.
So if you’re looking for a way to get some natural energy, or just to get in better shape, then I highly recommend the Lean Out Club. Therapist Larry knows his sh*t!!
