Trainers

CrossFit Delaware Valley currently employs seven trainers at our Broomall facility.  All of our staff are CrossFit Level One Trainers (at a minimum), although each have additional credentials listed below:

Rob Miller

CF Level Two Trainer, CF Basic Barbell, CF Olympic Lifting, CF Endurance and CF Gymnastics.  Rob is a member of the CrossFit HQ traveling certification team and has helped countless Level One participants master the basics of CrossFit.

Rob is the owner of CrossFit Delaware Valley.  ‘I’m a 38 year old father of two, originally from Springfield, PA.  I recently left my 10-year professional career in HR to pursue CrossFit full-time.  I play the bass guitar and sing, and hold a first-degree black belt in Isshinryu Karate’.

Zach Frankhouser

CF Level Two Trainer, CF Olympic Lifting, Rippetoe Basic Barbell Certification and the Ultimate Strongman Experience seminar with Steve Pulcinella and Kirk Nowack.

“I have been pursuing fitness since the first time I picked up my Dad’s copy of the Navy Seal Workout back in the 7th grade”. Zach is our longest-tenured trainer and acts as our in-house expert of a wide variety of topics, including Olympic lifting, nutrition and program design.  He works as a senior sales consultant for a Fortune-500 electronics supply firm and has a passion for movies and trivia.  He is recently married and graduated Penn State University in 2007.

Dan

Dan D’Egidio

CF Level One Trainer, CF Olympic Lifting and as a Personal Trainer through WITS.

Dan is currently a student at Delaware County Community College.  A self described ‘CrossFit Junkie’, he started with CFDV as a client in 2008 and progressed into a trainer role in 2009.  “I discovered CrossFit at a time when I believed ‘split routines’, ‘Muscle and Fitness’ and body building were the 3 keys to a successful fitness program. When I finally found CFDV it opened my eyes to a totally different approach on fitness”.

Dan’s ‘other’ love is music and he has played the drums since middle school.

Colleen O’Connor

CF Level One Trainer and CF Olympic Lifting.  Colleen also holds a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.

Colleen is an accomplished athlete, with a diverse background drawn from soccer, lacrosse, gymnastics and diving.  She has competed in the CF Games and finished as the number two female in the 2010 PA/DE /MD Sectionals.  Colleen enjoys the competitive release offered by CrossFit and continues to put the boys to shame with her efficient workout style.  Colleen has coached at CFDV since the summer of 2009.

Tom is a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer and is originally from El Paso, TX where he began his athletic career playing high school Texas football. He then began a consistent strength and conditioning weightlifting program for over a decade before starting Crossfit. Tom has been a Crossfit athlete for the past 3 years starting his Crossfit training in Texas before joining Crossfit Delaware Valley. Tom competed in the 2010 Crossfit Sectionals and remains active in competitions as part of our Affiliate Team. Tom brings great knowledge and experience in endurance and metabolic conditioning.

Julie Tollen

CF Level One Trainer and NPTI Certified Personal Trainer.

Julie is a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer whose enthusiasm for fitness started when she entered the martial arts world in 1997. Julie lived in Japan from 2004-2009 where she trained in Aikido, taught English, and learned a lot about herself and how to live with intention. When she returned, Julie graduated as a personal trainer from a six month program at the National Personal Training Institute in 2009, and was awarded her 2nd degree Black Belt in 2010. Julie believes that Crossfit is changing the world of fitness and is excited to be a part of it. She can typically be found at the box with the mid-morning crew at 9:30am, infusing as much spirit into each class as possible.

Larry Palazzolo

CF Level One Trainer. Larry is in the process of getting certified as a Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Larry’s athletic endeavors began at the ripe young age of 6. After seeing The Karate Kid, Larry begged his parents to let him take karate. With his Mr. Miyagi headband, he set the world on fire. Two years and several roundhouse kicks later, he moved on to soccer, basketball, track and field (long and triple jump), and eventually settled on volleyball. In late 2005, he found CrossFit and has been hooked ever since. Larry approaches CrossFit from a health and longevity perspective incorporating strength, mobility and proper nutrition as a complete package.
