Rob Miller

CF Level Two Trainer, CF Basic Barbell, CF Olympic Lifting, CF Endurance and CF Gymnastics.

Rob is the owner of CrossFit Delaware Valley. He is a long-standing member of the CrossFit HQ traveling certification team (since April 2008) and has helped countless Level One participants master the basics of CrossFit. He has taught CrossFit to prospective trainers in six countries. He has served as a Judge at the CrossFit Games for the past four years (’10-’13), as well as Head Judge/Competition Director at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals for two (’12-’13). One of the original Philadelphia-based CrossFitters, Rob has helped several other individuals establish their own gyms and spread the benefits of functional fitness. Rob is also a co-owner of CrossFit Harmony in Edgemont, PA.

I’m a 41-year-old father of two, originally from Springfield, PA. In 2010, I left my 10-year professional career in Information Technology and Human Resources to pursue CrossFit full-time. I play the bass guitar and sing, and hold a first-degree black belt in Isshinryu Karate. I’m obsessed with music and will gladly talk about classic rock and pop for hours.”

Larry Palazzolo

CF Level One Trainer, Level 1 BioSignature Practitioner through the Poliquin International Certification Program, Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Jon North Attitude Nation Level 1 Olympic Lifting Seminar. He has also attended the Dmitry Klokov, Ilya Ilyin and Vasiliy Polovnikov Olympic Weightlifing Seminar and the Mike Jenkins Strongman Seminar.

Larry’s athletic endeavors began at the ripe young age of 6. After seeing The Karate Kid, Larry begged his parents to let him take karate. With his Mr. Miyagi headband, he set the world on fire. Two years and several roundhouse kicks later, he moved on to soccer, basketball, track and field (long and triple jump), and eventually settled on volleyball. In late 2005, he found CrossFit and has been hooked ever since. Larry approaches CrossFit from a health and longevity perspective incorporating strength, mobility and proper nutrition as a complete package.

Larry is married to Kara, our web guru, and also offers Nutrition Coaching, Body Fat Analysis and is the founder of the Lean Out Club. >

Chris Foehl

CrossFit Level One Trainer, RKC (Russian Kettlebell Certified), HKC (Hardstyle Kettlebell Certified) and a personal trainer through The American Sports and Fitness Association.

Chris was an athlete without a set sport until he found CrossFit. “I have tried just about every sport but always found myself getting bored and moving on.”  He had been a trainer and class room instructor for nearly two years in conventional gyms before he stumbled upon CFDV. “Immediately I was impressed with the idea and methodology of a sport that’s main concept was a constantly varied work load across a wide spectrum of fitness.”

Chris runs CFDV’s Kettlebell Club training classes and the early morning sessions.

 Dan

Dan D’Egidio

CF Level One Trainer, CF Olympic Lifting and as a Personal Trainer through WITS.

Dan is currently a student at Delaware County Community College.  A self described “CrossFit Junkie,” he started with CFDV as a client in 2008 and progressed into a trainer role in 2009.  “I discovered CrossFit at a time when I believed ‘split routines,’ ‘Muscle and Fitness’ and body building were the 3 keys to a successful fitness program. When I finally found CFDV it opened my eyes to a totally different approach on fitness.”

Dan’s ‘other’ love is music and he has played the drums since middle school.

Jacki Ford

CrossFit Level One Trainer.

‘I’ve been Crossfitting for nearly three years. When I first started, I hadn’t done any exercise regimen and scaled every single movement. I am forever growing as an athlete, and will always have obstacles to conquer, but I’ve come such a long way with hard work and excellent coaching.

As a coach, I use my experience as my drive to help others achieve their goals and help them see that with determination, anything is possible. Seeing someone master a movement they’ve been struggling with, and knowing I’ve helped them achieve that goal, makes me feel incredible!’

Maura Buri

CrossFit Level One Trainer, CrossFit Kids Trainer, CrossFit Endurance, CrossFit Olympic Lifting, HKC (Hardstyle Kettlebell Certified).

Maura is a mother of three children and lives in the Gulph Mills area. She has run a home day care for the past 14 years and is a school board director for Upper Merion School District. Maura has been involved in CrossFit for 4 years. She participates and judges in local competitions. She has a passion for bringing health and fitness to children of all ages through CrossFit Kids.

Nick

Nick O’Ryon

CrossFit Level One Trainer.

Nick joins us from Philadelphia Sports Club, where he works as a personal trainer and strength coach. “I have been a lifelong athlete and was fortunate enough to have been introduced to Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting at a relatively young age. For the last five years I have been coaching these lifts with sports teams and individuals. I began CrossFitting two years ago and have participated in several local competitions. I am very grateful and excited to be joining CFDV!”

Kevin Belza

CrossFit Level One Trainer.

Kevin was born in Virginia, and has lived in Michigan and Florida before moving to Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Florida and has played golf professionally for a number of years after college.

He was introduced to CrossFit by a friend who was doing CrossFit workouts by himself, in his garage. Unfortunately for Kevin, his friend did a poor job of selling how fun and effective CrossFit workouts were! Kevin didn’t try CrossFit until more than a year later, at the local affiliate gym, CrossFit Gainesville. Initially, Kevin was attracted to the coaching and the intense group workout. It didn’t take long for a healthy obsession to develop! He is a firm believer that hard work pays off, but as a competitor will often take the ‘work smarter not harder’ approach. As a coach he loves sharing his knowledge and experience to give others the tools they need to succeed.

Sheldon Danley

CrossFit Level One Trainer.

Sheldon was born and raised in the small town of Dillsburg, PA and relocated to Ardmore, PA after graduating from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.  He currently resides in Newtown Square with his wife Erin, daughter Audrey, and dog Emmy.  He is a full-time Civil Engineer in Philadelphia by day, and a fitness junkie by night.

Sheldon’s athletic background began at a young age and progressed through many sports including soccer, football, wrestling, basketball, and especially baseball.  As a late bloomer, his pursuits of these sports ended when High School began.  During that time, he found a sport which favored a small, quick, agile, and accurate athlete.  That sport was Paintball.  He was given the opportunity to travel the country playing in major events for a fully sponsored team from the ages of 14-18.  Once college began, the paintball career ended, as studies and class took priority.  It was then that he started going to the gym and gaining an interest in human performance.
Sheldon found CrossFit in the summer of 2008 and began doing www.Crossfit.com workouts in his basement and back yard, teaching himself movements and techniques by watching instructional videos.  He entered his first competition in the Fall of 2008 and was immediately hooked on the “sport of fitness”.  He joined CrossFit Delaware Valley in the summer of 2010 to improve his game and continues to pursue the competitive side of CrossFit as well as Olympic Weightlifting.  Sheldon is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and is eager to share the knowledge he has gained in his 5 years of CrossFit experience.

Kara McDonald

CrossFit Level One Trainer.

Kara started at CFDV in 2010 somewhat reluctantly, but now considers it her second home. She runs the website and plans parties and fundraisers for the gym, and can usually be found dancing in the 5pm class. A graduate of Ohio University and longtime volleyball player, Kara has run five half marathons but prefers squatting heavy until the veins in her neck pop out (see pic). She enjoys reading, traveling the world with her swole mate, Coach Larry, and snuggling with their pitbull Tippy.
