CrossFit Delaware Valley currently employs nine trainers at our Broomall facility. All of our staff are CrossFit Level One Trainers (at a minimum), although each have additional credentials listed below:
Rob Miller
CF Level Two Trainer, CF Basic Barbell, CF Olympic Lifting, CF Endurance and CF Gymnastics. Rob is a member of the CrossFit HQ traveling certification team and has helped countless Level One participants master the basics of CrossFit.
Rob is the owner of CrossFit Delaware Valley. ”I’m a 40 year old father of two, originally from Springfield, PA. I recently left my 10-year professional career in HR to pursue CrossFit full-time. I play the bass guitar and sing, and hold a first-degree black belt in Isshinryu Karate.”
Zach Frankhouser
CF Level Two Trainer, CF Olympic Lifting, Rippetoe Basic Barbell Certification and the Ultimate Strongman Experience seminar with Steve Pulcinella and Kirk Nowack.
“I have been pursuing fitness since the first time I picked up my Dad’s copy of the Navy Seal Workout back in the 7th grade.” Zach is our longest-tenured trainer and acts as our in-house expert of a wide variety of topics, including Olympic lifting, nutrition and program design. He runs the Broomall Barbell Club, works as a senior sales consultant for a Fortune-500 electronics supply firm, and has a passion for movies and trivia. He is married and graduated Penn State University in 2007.
Dan D’Egidio
CF Level One Trainer, CF Olympic Lifting and as a Personal Trainer through WITS.
Dan is currently a student at Delaware County Community College. A self described “CrossFit Junkie,” he started with CFDV as a client in 2008 and progressed into a trainer role in 2009. “I discovered CrossFit at a time when I believed ‘split routines,’ ‘Muscle and Fitness’ and body building were the 3 keys to a successful fitness program. When I finally found CFDV it opened my eyes to a totally different approach on fitness.”
Dan’s “other” love is music and he has played the drums since middle school.
Colleen Starkey
CF Level One Trainer and CF Olympic Lifting. Colleen also holds a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
Colleen is an accomplished athlete, with a diverse background drawn from soccer, lacrosse, gymnastics and diving. She has competed in the CF Games and finished as the number two female in the 2010 PA/DE /MD Sectionals. Colleen enjoys the competitive release offered by CrossFit and continues to put the boys to shame with her efficient workout style. Colleen has coached at CFDV since the summer of 2009.

Larry Palazzolo
CF Level One Trainer, a Level 1 BioSignature Practitioner through the Poliquin International Certification Program, Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Larry’s athletic endeavors began at the ripe young age of 6. After seeing The Karate Kid, Larry begged his parents to let him take karate. With his Mr. Miyagi headband, he set the world on fire. Two years and several roundhouse kicks later, he moved on to soccer, basketball, track and field (long and triple jump), and eventually settled on volleyball. In late 2005, he found CrossFit and has been hooked ever since. Larry approaches CrossFit from a health and longevity perspective incorporating strength, mobility and proper nutrition as a complete package.
Larry is married to Kara, our web guru, and also runs the Lean Out Club.
Brian Coyle
CF Level One Trainer.
Since graduating from Loyola College in Maryland in 2005, Brian has consulted local and national clients that own real estate in various forms of litigation. After receiving a graduate degree from The Carey Business School of The Johns Hopkins University, he returned to the Philadelphia area in 2010 and began training at CrossFit Delaware Valley. While training at CrossFit Delaware Valley, Brian has had the pleasure to compete in various challenges, including the 2011 Mid-Atlantic Hopper and the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Affiliate Challenge. Beginning in January 2012, he transitioned to a trainer role.
Chris Foehl
CrossFit Level One Trainer, RKC (Russian Kettlebell Certified), HKC (Hardstyle Kettlebell Certified) and a personal trainer through The American Sports and Fitness Association.
Chris was an athlete without a set sport until he found CrossFit. “I have tried just about every sport but always found myself getting bored and moving on.” He had been a trainer and class room instructor for nearly two years in conventional gyms before he stumbled upon CFDV. “Immediately I was impressed with the idea and methodology of a sport that’s main concept was a constantly varied work load across a wide spectrum of fitness.” Chris runs much of CFDV’s Kettlebell training classes and the early morning sessions.
Maura Buri
CrossFit Level One Trainer, CrossFit Kids Trainer, CrossFit Endurance, HKC (Hardstyle Kettlebell Certified).
Maura is a mother of three children and lives in the Gulph Mills area. She has run a home day care for the past 13 years and is a school board director for Upper Merion School District. Maura has been involved in CrossFit for 3 years and will be attending certifications for Endurance and Olympic Lifting this fall. She participates and judges in local competitions. She has a passion for bringing health and fitness to children of all ages through CrossFit Kids.
Angela Michie
CrossFit Level One Trainer
Angela joined CFDV in 2011 and began coaching in 2013. “I was never an athlete growing up. I started running in my mid-twenties. It wasn’t until I began training with CFDV that I realized how empowering and fun it is to get strong and learn or perfect new skills. My goal as a coach is to share this sense of empowerment and fun with all the athletes in our community.”
In addition to coaching CrossFit, Angela manages events, education, and volunteer programs for a regional land conservation nonprofit and plans nutrition and wellness workshops with Larry. She lives in Philadelphia and enjoys cooking, reading, biking around the city, punk music, and jokes.
