CrossFit Delaware Valley offers training programs to athletes of all fitness levels, regardless of experience. We use CrossFit methodology and find that this system is best suited to those that are seeking broad fitness that is useful for many different sports and activities. Whether you enjoy running, gardening, or just playing with your kids, CrossFit will improve your fitness in ways you’ve never experienced!
I want to give this a try. What’s the first step?
If you’re new to CrossFit and want to try out our gym, you can schedule a free trial class using our Online Scheduler. If none of the times listed work for you, please email us to schedule a one-on-one introduction. Before you arrive, please complete our Online Waiver.
The class will start by talking a bit about CrossFit and explaining how the gym works. Then we warm up and explain the movements involved in the workout. Each athlete will do the same workout, but will receive a custom ‘scaling’ based on his or her abilities. From there, we execute the workout and coach you through it. The session ends with a cool-down and Q&A period.

Ok, I’m in. What’s next?
If you decide you would like to join our gym, you must complete our Elements Orientation program before starting with regular group classes. This is a very small group session (no more than three athletes) and lasts 90-120 minutes. During Orientation, you’ll learn our warmup, five basic weightlifting movements and our nutritional apporach. We’ll leave plenty of time to discuss your questions and we’ll chart out your first month in the gym.
Why do I need to purchase an Orientation?
CrossFit uses traditional barbell and gymnastics movements that are not found in a ‘regular’ gym. In order to achieve the results you’re looking for, you need to learn the movements first and PRACTICE them until you can do them effectively and safely.
At CFDV, we value individual attention and try to spend as much time with our clients as possible. When you’re just starting out, you need more help to learn the movements, so you can a) get better quicker and b) stay healthy. We’ve tried every possible method of inducting new beginners and have found that extra attention up front pays dividends in the long run.
The cost of the Orientation is separate from our monthly memberships, with the exception of the Yearly Unlimited plan (i.e. we run your Orientation for FREE if you commit for a year!). Please see our Pricing page for details.

After you’ve purchased your Orientation, email us and we’ll get you scheduled with a trainer.
Ok, I’ve attended Orientation. I still don’t think I’m ready!
CrossFit is intimidating. We’ve all ‘been there’ and realize that it’s tough to transition from a newbie lifter to a firebreather!
To help develop our newer athletes, we offer a set of classes called ‘Elements’. Elements classes are taught at a slower pace and generally have fewer athletes than the bigger CrossFit group sessions. If you need to ramp up slowly (we recommend this!) then try to attend as many of these sessions as possible. We recommend 6-10 Elements classes before hitting the larger group classes.
Our current Elements calendar is:
Mon-Thurs – 0630, 1200 and 1845
Fri – 0630, 1200 at 1730
Saturday – 1030
Visit our full class calendar for the details!
If you have a special training request or scheduling issue, we can meet with you ‘off schedule’. Please email us to schedule Personal Training.
I’m an experienced CrossFitter, do I need to go through Orientation and Elements?
If you’ve been CrossFitting for a year or more, you can do a Free Trial with our main CrossFit class before deciding if you’d like to join us. If you decide to join the gym, you can test out of Elements by demonstrating competency in the following movements: Deadlift, Hang Clean, Front Squat and Push Press.
